Introduction to ISMR
Mentally Challenged persons are integral part of the society and they have equal right being a member of the society.

ISMR is a parents body, this society was raised on 12th Mar 1995 and registered with a view to create general awareness about mental retardation and to create an infrastructure to help and support mentally challenged children / persons and their parents.

ISMR is registered with National Trust, functioning under Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Govt. of India, and affiliated to PARIVAAR (A National level largest NGO run by parents). ISMR have 262 members,. Besides of parent members, around 25% are non parent members, which includes doctors, psychologists, other professionals, eminent citizens and social workers.

To follow an empathetic approach towards the handicapped with special emphasis on the rights, rehabilitation and all round development of mentally challenged

Structure of the Swavlamban
The executive committee of ISMR is a governing body of Swavlamban, various functional committees have been formed to facilitate, recommend, decide and organize various functional activities of the Institute.
